Some clients may wish to find a solo carer or independent care professional. This can offer flexibility, but it also requires careful checks around suitability, insurance, safeguarding, references, DBS status, training and whether the support involves regulated activity.

What a solo carer may offer
Solo carers may offer companionship, domestic support, shopping support, wellbeing visits, sitting services, transport support or other services. Where personal care is involved, regulatory requirements may apply depending on the arrangement.
Employment and tax responsibilities
Some private arrangements may create employment, tax or insurance responsibilities. Clients and carers should take their own advice where needed.
Find Carers' role
Find Carers may help with discovery, profiles or enquiries. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we do not employ solo carers and do not control the services they provide.
